September 2023 – May 2024

Pinnacle’s Clergy Collective draws clergy into a Community of Practice, pursuing leadership effectiveness. Support, encouragement, and cross-pollination learning and sharing also happen as we engage each other through the Seminar and Coaching Groups. Some clergy have participated since those early coaching groups in 2005, while we always include first-year people each round, September – May. The Clergy Collective includes two activities: the Seminar and a Coaching Group, with the option of adding individual coaching to your experience.

  • Seminars: Monthly, 75-minutes, September–May, online only, instructor-led

  • Coaching Groups: Monthly, 90-minutes, September–May, online or in-person options, small group with a coach

This year, September 2023 – May 2024, we are offering two tracks, found below.

About Coaching Groups

1 X MONTH, 90 MINUTES, 6 PARTICIPANTS AND 1 COACH
SEPTEMBER 2023 - MAY 2024

Leading clergy coaching groups has been a central part of Pinnacle’s ministry since its beginning in 2008. We continue this specific form of ministry since it’s so helpful to those participating. The cross-pollination, collective learning, shared emerging practices, support, and encouragement combine for strong formative experiences each time we gather.

Each in-person group is 8-10 participants, while online groups are limited to 6 participants, led by a Pinnacle coach. Participants are in the same coaching group with the same coach during the entire year, from September to May, forming strong relationships within their group. Each participant is encouraged to identify personal and/or vocational goals to pursue over the course of this year. During each group, the coach facilitates an opportunity to pursue these goals while also tending to “front burner” items which participants bring to the group. Feedback from clergy participating in our groups is that these experiences help them serve far more effectively in their ministries.

Participation Criteria

Pinnacle Clergy Collectives are open to those serving in any position in Christian churches or denominations.

We have three criteria which describe participants in our Clergy Collectives. These are requirements for participation. If this is not within your theology and practice, then simply recognize this Clergy Collective is not the best opportunity for you at this time.

  1. Actively supports men and women in ministry, serving in pastoral roles.

  2. Actively supports ministry in churches outside one’s denomination; able to encourage and cheer for pastors serving in denominations other than one’s own without hesitation.

  3. Able to commit to participating. Your presence in the seminar and especially in the coaching group directly influences the quality of this experience for everyone. Participants commit to being there unless an emergency interferes.
